The future of the energy industry under one roof

The global energy industry is undergoing a radical transformation. Generation, distribution, storage and usage must continue to be intelligently networked in the future in order to tap the full potential of renewable energies. The organizers of the renowned exhibitions Intersolar and ees Europe have therefore launched an innovation hub for empowering new energy solutions: The smarter E Europe.

Cross-sector, intelligently networked and integrated solutions and technologies in particular are needed for the energy supply of tomorrow. In response to this, Intersolar Europe, the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry, and ees Europe, Europe’s largest and most-visited exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems, will be joined by two additional events in 2018. Four energy exhibitions will be unified under the new umbrella The smarter E Europe from this year. Power2Drive Europe, the new exhibition for charging infrastructure and electromobility, and EM-Power, the new exhibition for intelligent energy use in industry and buildings, will be held for the very first time from June 20–22 in Munich.

The conference program also includes a premiere. The smarter E Europe Conference will take place for the first time June 19–20, offering the ideal environment for discussing pioneering topics like sector coupling, digitalization and decentralization. For example, in the session “Sector Coupling – How is it emerging” experts will explore ways in which sectors can be efficiently interconnected by discussing concrete technologies and projects. The session “Sustainable Energy Systems for Smart Cities” focuses on the integration of renewable energies into the energy system and on process automation.

In addition, in recognition of innovative business models and pioneering solutions in the area of sector coupling as well as promising projects, The smarter E AWARD will be presented for the first time. The award honors achievements that epitomize the interlinking of all core areas of the energy supply chain, in the two categories “Smart Renewable Energy” and “Outstanding Projects.” The presentation will take place at The smarter E Forum on June 20, 2018 at 5:00pm in hall B2, booth 570. Utilities are also playing a significant role in the transition to a new energy world. The “energy transition AWARD” will therefore be presented on June 21 to honor utilities that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the energy transition. For more information, please visit
